WARRAGAMBA AUXILIARY SPILLWAY
Client :
Sydney Catchment Authority / Abigroup
Description:
This multi-award winning project involved sympathetic revegetation of over 30 hectares of bushland impacted by the auxiliary spillway construction. Arterra completed a flora survey of the existing bush and a comprehensive weed assessment. Arterra's unique concept design for the spoil emplacement mound helped Abigroup win the construction tender and resulted in significant benefits in revegetation success rates and zero site runoff. Arterra played a key role in the writing and implementation of the project's environmental management plan, including the site rehabilitation and landscaping strategy and the weed management strategy. Further works included detailed rehabilitation monitoring and reporting over a two year period. The revegetation outcome has been an overwhelming success and recognised by the award of the 2012 AILA (NSW) Medal For Landscape Architecture.
