Arterra responded to a complex brief for this high profile urban plaza beneath the northern approach to the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The design addressed significant Bridge security requirements, pedestrian flows, disabled access, night safety of users, weekend markets, massive peak crowd loads (such as New Year's Eve), large volumes of stormwater falling from the bridge above, heritage issues, reloaction of existing large Fig trees, school bus interchange requirements and the provision of new public toilets. As part of the brief, we modelled the site and the proposed design options in 3D. Accurate, photorealistic views of the proposed plaza were included on Council's web site as part of the support information during the DA process. Arterra was the lead consultant coordinating all consultants including irrigation, civil, structural and electrical engineers during the documentation of the plaza.
