RETFORD PARK HERITAGE MANAGEMENT PLAN, EAST BOWRAL
Client :
Mr. J.O. Fairfax
Description:
Retford Park is a picturesque and important historic house and garden in the NSW Southern Highlands. The property was developed from the late 1800s onwards by the Hordern family raising cattle and bloodstock. It was purchased in 1964 by Mr James Fairfax who began the transition of Retford Park from agriculture to gentleman's residence.
Working closely with Tanner Architects, Arterra was engaged by the client to assist in the preparation of a conservation management plan for Retford Park. The work included research and assessment of the landscape heritage and visual studies to determine the appropriate heritage curtilage to be applied.
