HORNSBY QUARRY REVITALISATION - TREE INVENTORY AND CONSULTING ARBORIST ADVICE
Client :
Hornsby Shire Council
Description:
The Hornsby Quarry revitalisation involves the rehabilitation of a disused quarry and its integration within the wider network of the existing Hornsby Park. It will create a new 59 hectare regional parkland, comprising bushland and open space, a variety of sporting facilities and heritage sites.
Council engaged Arterra to survey, identify, assess and map the tree population across much of this steep and unstable quarry site. Arterra positionally surveyed and mapped more than 1400 trees. This has been crucial in the planning for the park and execution of early site stabilisation works while minimising impacts to important native vegetation and wildlife.
