The client required a refined landscape design to compliment this extremely modern house with useable, private and serene outdoor spaces. The house and landscape focussed on a central split-level courtyard which was designed to be viewed from a number of different rooms and vantage points. The open spaces that were created, flowed from the house to the pool area and the adjoining Brisbane River and foreshore nature reserve.  An intimate pond provides a special feature to the lower levels of the house containing the master bedroom and ensuite. The steep site posed substantial challenges which were addressed with a range of terracing devices that generated flat useable spaces connected with planted transitions. The craftsmanship is evident at every point, including the landscape.
